Cardinal IG company is our buddy

The Fixhomeglass team takes a responsible approach to selecting materials and glass. It is essential for us to work with high-quality American glass that has been proven over time and by customers. For over 9 years, we have been working with the popular and reliable window glass supplier Cardinal Glass Industries. In this article, we would like to explain in more detail why we chose this particular window glass supplier and why you should work with us.

Cardinal Glass Industries — one of the largest and most respected glass manufacturers in the United States. The company specializes in high-tech glass solutions for windows and doors, supplying products to leading window brands across the country. The company continuously tests and improves its technologies and manufactures products with a verified environmental product declaration (EPD).

Fixhomeglass works with insulated glass units from Cardinal IG Company — this is an advanced double-glazed window with a warm frame, developed by Cardinal for maximum durability and energy efficiency.

Advantages of insulated glass units from Cardinal IG Company:

  • Double silicone sealant: ensures an extremely low failure rate (only 0.20% over 20 years)
  • Stainless steel in the frame: prevents moisture penetration and retains argon
  • New generation warm frame: improves condensation resistance and increases the temperature at the edge of the glass
  • Polymer-free: eliminates chemical fogging
  • P-1 tested: Cardinal IG Company create extreme conditions: 140°F, 100% humidity
  • Improves window U-Factor to 0.005: critical for meeting modern building codes
  • Compatible with Cardinal LoĒ coatings: reduces heat loss and solar gain

Why do we choose insulated glass units from Cardinal IG Company?

  • Statistically proven: insulated glass units from Cardinal IG Company have the lowest seal failure rate in the industry
  • Currently, Cardinal IG Company have approximately 400 million insulated glass units under warranty that are performing reliably
  • The 20-year warranty on thermal seals only proves that Cardinal IG Company is confident in the quality and durability of its insulated glass units
  • During production, Cardinal subjects its double-glazed windows to rigorous testing that simulates the worst-case scenarios of real-world conditions (140º F, constant exposure to ultraviolet radiation, and 100% humidity). This tests the durability of the seal.
  • Cardinal IG Company’s patented warm-edge spacer design delivers enhanced condensation resistance and a 1-2 degree improved sightline temperature.
  • Cardinal IG Company offers a variety of design options: custom shapes and sizes, decorative internal bars.

Cardinal’s insulating glass units come with a 20-year warranty on the thermal seal, ensuring long-term durability and performance.

We install different window glass types from Cardinal Glass Industries:

Annealed Glass

It is ordinary glass that is easy to cut and shape. It is used as a base for other types of glass, such as tempered, or Low-E coated glass. However, it is weaker and not suitable for places where safety is important, such as areas subject to strong impacts.

Tempered Glass

This is safety glass that undergoes heat treatment: it is heated and then rapidly cooled. As a result, it becomes approximately four times stronger than ordinary glass. If it breaks, it shatters into small pieces that are less likely to cause injury. However, these shards can fly outwards, so it is used with caution in commercial construction.

Insulating Glass (IG)

This is two or more panes of glass, separated by a spacer, with a sealed air or argon space between them. This type of double glazing retains heat, reduces noise, and makes your home more comfortable.

Low-Emissivity Glass

This is energy-saving glass with a thin transparent coating of metal or oxide. It reflects infrared heat, preventing it from escaping in winter and penetrating in summer. This helps to reduce heating and air conditioning costs.

Colored and Pattern glass

Colored and Pattern glass is also available to order and install. You can ask our manager for a catalog of available variants.

If you aren’t sure which type of glass to choose, feel free to ask our technician during the estimate. You can also read a useful article on our blog:  «Types of Glass: Let’s choose the Right One»
